MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez has revealed the list of things they will have to watch out when fighting Juan Manuel Marquez.
For one, Fernandez said they will have to negate Marquez’s counterpunching and foot stomping.
Fernandez, who is Pacquiao’s bosom friend, admitted that they have been preoccupied with their offensive tack.
“Lagi tayong umaatake pero minsan nakakalimutan natin ang depensa kaya tumatama 'yung Marquez (We always attack, but at times we forget to defend which is why Marquez scores hits),” said Fernandez in an interview with PTV Sports.
According to Fernandez, Marquez's counterpunching and foot stomping showed weaknesses in Pacquiao's defense. So this time, they will have to step back and re-examine their strategy.
